3 years ago the City of Hayward and Chabot College began a partnership called Tennyson Thrives. It is a collaborative effort between community members, Hayward City staff, and the Chabot College Student Initiative Center to create and implement a dynamic Vision Plan for the neighborhoods along the Tennyson Corridor. During this time, over 2,000 Chabot students have been involved! 

 

These students  bring their empathy, creativity, and community insights to bear on this work. Hayward and Chabot College have created art shows, conducted census outreach, put on community festivals in the parks around Hayward, conducted community needs surveys, developed food pantries, and much more. As we move into the 4th year of this collaboration, we are excited to see what lies ahead.
